Last week, I posted a mock draft with the Spurs picking Trey Thompkins at number 29.

However, in RotoWorld’s latest mock draft, Thompkins went to the Dallas Mavericks at 26 and the Spurs lands Tobias Harris at the 29th spot.
At 6 foot 8, he’s going to be an undersized power forward, but can shoot it well enough that he might be able to play some small forward in the NBA.
Gregg Popovich doesn’t seem to trust DeJuan Blair and they’ve got plenty of young talent in the backcourt.
Richard Jefferson will have to be replaced at some point, and Harris wouldn’t be a bad place to start.
No chance Harris is still available then. He’d be an amazing pickup for the spurs but it looks like we’d have to trade up because he looks like he’s sneaking into the lottery

I agree with diggitybomb, Harris could be gone at number 20 or higher, if he slips down like Blair did I wouldn’t complain. He has better upside than Trey Thompkins.
The Spurs have a better chance of drafting Thompkins than this guy.
Tobias will be blessing if he falls down to number 29, the Spurs should definitely pick him if he’s available.
Both players (Thompkins and Harris) are good and can stick in the NBA, but the Spurs will need more than that. I think they should trade up to get better players in the coming draft.
Harris would be an amazing pickup. In my opinion an absolute STEAL outside of the lottery, Especially if his combine numbers exceed expectations I think he would work well into a system like the spurs’
I agree, even Thompkins would be a good pick in my opinion, I have to admit both these players might be gone at number 29 but if either of them is available the Spurs should consider.
Thanks for the comments and reads.
Tobias Harris is a lottery pick no way we would get him unless we move up the draft.
Realistically, I think Tobias could be gone at number 15, so I agree that the Spurs have to move up in the draft ladder to get him.
However, I’m intrigued by RotoWorld’s take on this years draft. We can’t be sure what will happen, remember DeJuan Blair was projected as a lottery pick but into fall into San Antonio’s laps.
Who know’s the draft god’s might smile again on us.
