Losing to France on opening day, Great Britain seemed to be determined to get a victory. Team GB led 18-12 after the first period, but dug themselves into a deep hole scoring just five points in the entire second quarter.
Croatia led 35-23 at halftime, and stretched their lead to 63-47 after three quarters.
However, led by Joel Freeland, Team GB made a furious comeback in the final quarter outscoring Croatia 23-12. But they came up short, losing the game 75-70.
Freeland was impressive for Team GB, finishing with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Andrew Lawrence and Dan Clark had 10 apiece.
Spurs draftee Ryan Richards is not getting the breaks he needed so far.
For the second game in a row, Richards went scoreless in 12 minutes of action but did grabbed four rebounds.
Krunoslav Simon led Croatia with 16 points and Ante Tomic added 12.
Team GB will face Serbia Tomorrow.
Great start by Team GB but that 2nd quarter was a disaster, I guess that’s something to learn from again.
Give Richards more playing time coach Finch! Thanks!
Richards seriously need more minutes, let the kid play! He is strong agile and has a nice shooting touch.
