Parker, France routed Belgium as team prepare for EuroBasket


In another warm-up game before the 2011 EuroBasket, the French national team played against Belgium in Lievin.

Team France opened the game with 28-6 run and never looked back.

Belgium however played better in the second quarter, outscoring France 13-7 to cut the deficit 35-19 at the halftime.

In the third period, France took control of the game, the Frenchmen produced a 26-12 advantage in the quarter and entered the final period with a 30 point lead 61-31.

Both scored 13 points in the last period as France claimed the win 74-44.

Nicolas Batum top-scored for Team France with 18 points, San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker scored 12 points, while Boris Diaw had 11 points for the French nationals.

Beghin led Belgium with 13 points a the losing effort.

Both teams will participate at 2011 EuroBasket that will start on Wednesday in Lithuania. Parker and Team France will face Spurs draftee Davis Bertans and Latvia on opening day.

  2. It will not be easy for France to gain a outright berth to the London Olympics but I believe they will get it done eventually.
