Noah joins Team France

According to FIBA website, Joakim Noah has arrived at France’s EuroBasket training camp to give a boost to the Les Bleus frontcourt.

The Chicago Bulls star has been in Los Angeles receiving treatment on ankle problem, but jetted to Pau this afternoon and immediately made his way to camp.

He was welcomed there by his teammates, who hope he can have a major impact in Lithuania.

“He is a big, big player in the NBA,” said Nicolas Batum. “He could do something big for us, and be an extraordinary player.”

However, coach Vincent Collet cautioned against putting too many expectations on Noah’s shoulders.

The 26-year-old has not previously played for his country at a major tournament, and Collet recognizes he will need time to get back into his groove.

“He is hungry but he does not have the experience of other players in the group,” he said. “We should not put too much pressure on him.”

The arrival of Noah at the French national team’s training camp was expected.

But it was welcome news for Noah to join the team early so that they fully integrate their key players into the rotation which already includes NBA players like Batum, San Antonio Spurs Tony Parker, Spurs draftee Nando De Colo, Boris Diaw, Ronny Turiaf, Rodrigue Beaubois, former Spur Ian Mahimni and Kevin Seraphin.

  2. Noah is an awesome addition to Team France if he’s really ready and healthy, I like their chances in making it past to the qualifiers.

  3. France is really taking this Olympic qualifiers seriously, I say watch out for them, Tony, Nando, Batum, Diaw and now Noah? This team is loaded with NBA talent.
