The Argentines remain unbeaten in six “friendly games” as a part of their preparation for the Olympic qualifiers.

After leading Argentina for three consecutive in scoring, San Antonio Spurs’ Manu Ginobili took a back seat to Argentine teammate Luis Scola.

Against a stubborn squad from Uruguay, Scola had 21 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. 12 of his points came in the third quarter, when Argentina buried their opponents with a 32 point barrage while giving up only 11 points. At one point, Uruguay went scoreless for 3:29 minutes.

Ginobili finished with eight points, four rebounds and one block in 18 minutes of action, helping the Argentines to a 77-50 victory as they remain undefeated in six games. (Hat tip to Pounding the Rock)

  1. Scola and Ginobili’s one-two punch is deadly. I’m going back to the days of “whaf if” the Spurs never traded Scola. Oh! Well!
