The Latvian’s never let up in the second quarter outscoring Team GB 23-13 to take a 38-26 lead at halftime.

During the second half, there were no serious comeback attempts from Great Britain as Latvia won the third quarter 18-15 and the final canto 18-10, on their way to an easy 74-51 victory.

Rolands Freimanis paced Latvia with 14 points, Andrejs Selakovs had 11, and Janis Blums and Martins Meiers added 10 points apiece.

As both squads heads to Lithuania for the 2011 EuroBasket, Bertans will see a familiar face in his teams’ first matchup as Latvia will play against Tony Parker and Team France.

Richards and Great Britain will face Lithuania while another Spurs-affiliate, Erazem Lorbek of Slovenia, will face Bulgaria in the opening day of the EuroBasket on Wednesday.

  1. A lot of Spurs players are playing in these Olympic qualifiers, a great alternative while the NBA is still in a lockout.

  2. It seems like Latvia is going to Lithuania ready and prepared, the team won two straight games before they play at the EuroBasket.

  3. I’m a Spurs fan, but with all due respect, I don’t see either Great Britain or Latvia will do well at the Eurobasket competition.
