Tony Parker led  the San Antonio Spurs with 21 points and eight assists, but role players like Danny Green and T.J. Ford gave San Antonio  a huge lift off the bench to help get the victory.

Monta Ellis scored 38 points in 44 minutes for Golden State but key defensive stops down the stretch particularly by Green and Tim Duncan helped the Spurs win their first game without the injured Manu Ginobili 101-95 win over the Warriors on Wednesday night at AT&T Center.

Duncan had a solid 15 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three blocks for San Antonio.

Ginobili got a rousing cheer from fans while sitting courtside in street clothes, he has already urdergone surgery on the fifth metacarpal bone that he fractured in his left hand Monday in Minnesota.

Manu miss at least six weeks, which is good news considering that initial findings said that the All-Star guard will miss 6-8 weeks.

San Antonio will return back to action tonight at the AT&T Center to face the defending champion Dallas Mavericks.

  1. I gotta say this Tony Parker provided the offense down the stretch, Danny Green hustled, Ford dished his hearts out and Timmy provided the interior defense and rebounding great team effort to get their first win without Manu this season. Go Spurs Go!

  2. Great observation, I just wanted to add that DeJuan Blair played a heck of a game and Splitter is developing to be a banger he seems more comfortable with his role now.
