Duncan, Parker guide Spurs to 5th straight win

The San Antonio Spurs continued with their winning ways defeating the Phoenix Suns 100-107 on Tuesday night behind some familiar faces.

Tim Duncan scored 26 points and grabbed 11 boards, while Tony Parker scored eight points in a 10-0 run early in the fourth quarter, and finished with 24 points and seven assist to help the Spurs win their fifth in a row, eighth in nine games and 12th in the last 14 road games.

Kawhi Leonard added 14 points and seven rebounds, Manu Ginobili had 13 points, five assists and five rebounds, and Matt Bonner chipped in 10 points for San Antonio.

Shannon Brown, starting because Grant Hill was a late scratch with right knee inflammation, scored a career-high 32 for Phoenix.

Spurs stay perfect at home behind Duncan’s double-double

Tim Duncan had a vintage performance on the night he surpassed Gary Payton on the All Time Scoring list.

Tim Duncan scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 102-91 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, that kept the Spurs perfect at home.

Earlier in the game, Duncan passed another NBA statistical milestone. The Big Fundamental scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the first half and moved past Gary Payton for 26th place on the NBA’s scoring list on a 20-foot jumper with 1:07 left in the second quarter, helping the Spurs to take a 56-42 halftime lead.

Tony Parker added 17 points and nine assists for San Antonio, who have won three straight and improved to 9-0 at home.

However, the Spurs will have two upcoming games on the road where they 0-4 this season. DeJuan Blair had 14 points and rookie Kawhi Leonard chipped in 12 points and eight boards.

Marcin Gortat had 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead Phoenix. Markieff Morris added 14 points, Jared Dudley had 12 points, and Shannon Brown had 10 as the Suns, beginning a five-game road trip, have lost four straight.
